Well, hello! Did you vote today? I did. It was easy-peasy. :)
It is REALLY hard to believe it is already November 4th. Right now it is 73 degrees. Most years, we have already had a layer of snow fall! It makes it hard to get in the Holiday Spirit. However the Holiday Spirit, is definitely something I am. I infact finished 99.9% of my christmas shopping this morning. And by that I mean anything that I am buying and not making. So, I still have plenty to do. Most of my presents are homemade. I really prefer that. I would have loved to buy all my presents locally, however there is not a downtown, local shop that sells the electronic devices that I was looking for.
Last year, I started my own little Christmas tradition-ish thing, where I just don't by my children very much. Over the years {my kids are 6,almost 9, and 10} you just realize enough is enough. There are so many other people that buy for them, and even if they didn't, I don't want to create monsters. So, last year Santa brought the 2 olders a PSP system, and the younger a Leapster. For their stockings they found a few little items, and a game for each of their systems. I have tried really hard to remember what I got them, and now I forget. But I only got them 3 or 4 things each. One of them was homemade. This year I have gotten them each 2 games for those systems, and each of them a book and a webkinz, and I think that is it. I plan on making them each a gift or two. For Isabella it will be these guys but for the olders, I am not quite certain yet. For everyone else, I am making scarves. I got the teacher presents a few weeks ago signed copies of this book. {which is also the book I got for each of my kids because he was an author who came to visit my store}. Plus, I will make a scarf for each of them, and maybe some homemade caramels. I like that I don't have to stress about affording anything, or making sure they get what they want. I bought everything that I think they need, and now, I just have to sew sew sew. It feels good to be able to relax and enjoy the holiday. We are going to our local festival of the trees/breakfast with Santa, a Junie B. Jones play, and the Nutcracker.
Now to answer Elisha's question on her blog. What is on my Christmas wishlist??? not much at all. So far a couple of books that I haven't picked up yet, an itunes gift card, and maybe some fabric and/or scrapbooking stuff!
*oops, I forgot to post this yesterday! My bad :(
