Wow is it really already December???? What happened to November, and every month before that???? November was pretty busy with Brandons big birthday party at the Great Wolf Lodge. Which I took absolutely no pictures of. :( Then there was Thanksgiving, which was not the funnest, because I had to drive an hour away, and I am so scared to drive in the winter. We had got hit with snow and ice during the night before Thanksgiving. So, it wasn't fun at all. Quite scary. Last week we had a snowstorm too, that was really crazy. I woke up Tuesday morning at 6 something in the a.m. and went out to my car to get something in my socks, and I came inside, got the kids up and got them ready for school. Not even 20 minutes later, a huge winter storm blew in, covered all the roads with snow and ice and not a plow to be seen. Not very fun. Yesterday or rather last night was snowing quite a bit, and when I woke up this morning, we had about 8-10 inches. I had to shovel my way out of the driveway to go to work. I got to the hotel where I work, and I pulled in. I got stuck!!!!! I had to shovel my way in to the driveway/parking lot. Luckily after I started, some wonderful guy driving one of those sidewalk plows came and helped me out. I didn't get very far into the parking lot, but far enough over next to the building. I did almost get hit twice having my car there. Oh well. One of my coworkers also got stuck coming in, so I helped shovel her out. I really got my workout in today. :) But I also hurt my wrist somehow. Very painful.
I am really liking all the advent calendars and such for christmas. We don't do a calendar. But I am going to make a list here this week, of all the things that I would eventually like to implement into our christmas routine. I have already failed however, because I really wanted to take the kids to the tree lighting downtown, but it was WAY too cold to go, and I didn't want to deal with it. Though one tradition I would like to add is going downtown for the tree lighting, and hot chocolate. Maybe the weekend before christmas, depending on the weather, we will head down there for a day of hot chocolate and checking out the lights, and maybe pick up a present or two for somebody. Sounds fun. I really just wish that all my plans and ideas wouldn't be so dependant on the weather. I hate winter weather, but I really can't change that living in Northern Michigan. Uuuggghhh!
Today Ashley had her choir concert, and she sang beautifully, and looked beautiful too.I love that she is a part of that. It is a program through our local college, and my brother participated in it for many years, too. It is called Northern Michigan Childrens Choir, and they meet every Thursday and have I believe 2 concerts a year. I really liked the christmas music, and the last song the older choirs came down the sides of the auditorium holding candles, and all 3 choirs sang a pretty song, and then they faded out the lights at the end, and they all blew out the candles. It was pretty. Brandon spent Friday night at his friend Trey's house for Treys' birthday. And Isabella went to her friend Emily's birthday today at the YMCA gymnastics.
Well, I must get to bed. My wrist is really hurting, too.
